  Chris’ rare combination of talent and patience makes him an excellent teacher. I’ve been playing for 30 years and never learned so much from anyone. I can’t recommend him enough, he’s just excellent.

  Chia is a wonderful teacher. Very patient and flexible. He is excellent at my meeting my boys where they are and coming up with different ways to engage them in the lesson.

  Chris has a huge depth of knowledge and experience in music, performance and production that matches his deep empathy and understanding of people. He has been extremely kind and encouraging teacher, although it really feels like more of a partnership! I've worked with Chris for more than 3 years and he is definitely one of the best in the DC area you will find.

  Chris is a phenomenal musician and teacher. When my son (who is primarily a drummer) wanted to learn to play bass while at boarding school, Chris provided lessons via Skype. When my son needed to focus on music theory, Chris provided excellent instruction. Chris also provided exceptional help and advice when my son was applying and auditioning for music programs in college. He also had the skills and flexibility to teach my daughter bass, piano, and drums. I would recommend Chris as a bass teacher for both beginners just starting out and seasoned musicians wanting to hone their skills.

  Every time I pick up my bass I'm reminded of something Chris taught me. Things that I had never thought of that are essential to making good music. Chris is in the stratosphere when it comes to musical knowledge and he knows what you need to know!
